J.W. McConnell Family Foundation Innoweave social innovation initiative

In addition to benefitting nonprofits, the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation has discovered that its Innoweave social innovation initiative may be chipping away at the ‘hoarding’ mentality that consultants can have. “As part of this initiative, we’ve consciously developed a network of consultants who understand ‘If we share and support each other, it’s good for everybody,’” says John Cawley, vice president at the foundation. “We’re delighted to see that consultants aren’t just approaching Innoweave as a cash cow where they can get on the platform and access a range of consulting gigs. Instead we’ve got consultants now across the country who are participating in a community of practice where they are open sourcing their educational resources and training workshop designs so that others can use them.”
